Welcome and Hello to all Wives! I don’t know where you are reading this, but I want to encourage you and let you know that The Lord cares for you and has you on his mind. As a result of that, he’s put you on my mind and in my prayers. My heart for this blog is to create a space where we have discretion and support for one another. Here is where I would like to set a culture of safety and respect for the gift of marriage. A gift’s value is set by the gift giver. God gave marriage to mankind, and we should try as much as we can to honor it by allowing the love and life agreement to have space. Marriage has always been under attack and criticized long before today. It’s not a new idea to undermine the unity of Husband and Wife. This unity is one of the excellent references to how God loves us and is committed to us, much like a marriage. If we don’t pray for it, work through it, and stay committed to its original beautiful intent, extinction will surely be on the epitaph. I will be posting prompts and prayers so we can look for the hand of God and find it. Let’s look for the ways God will use us and the life we live to bring healing so we will experience healing while building our homes wisely.
Heart Prompt: Speak life & Make Love
“A wise woman builds her home, but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands.” Proverbs 14:1 NLT
Marriage is a spiritual union God created for a man and a woman, those committed to growing in the fruit of the spirit and in love for one another. What I love about being married is having a husband who loves and supports me through all of life’s twists and turns. Even the strongest of marriages will face its own challenges. In those challenging times, you find your way back to each other by experiencing support when the weight is heaviest, and encouragement becomes crucial. Sowing into your own marriage is done with the intentionality of speaking life into the marriage and restraining negative thoughts and actions that cause death in your union. God is our apex partner in the success of our marriages. Make Him Lord by submitting to his expectations written in the Bible and what he whispers to you through prayer. It’s God’s desire we all have good marriages, not perfect ones. Blessings to you and your Husbands. May you remember to make great love as you cast all cares on the One who loves both of you!
Marriage Prayer:
Lord, I come to you as a daughter by the grace of Jesus Christ; I thank you for my Husband and our union, which you have ordained. God, I speak life to our marriage and ask you to show me the little ways that I can love and honor him more in more ways I can find. When I submit myself to You as a godly Wife, your purpose for my marriage becomes easier to walk in unity and harmony. Teach me the release of peace. Show me how I can refrain from saying something I feel I have a right to for your peace of God and experience the glow of hard work for my home. As a result of my healthy marriage, my family, my friends, and my community will all benefit from this, Jesus’ Name.
Amen.
